Thierry Henry<\/a>\u00a0labelled Arsenal \u2018the most solid team in Europe\u2019 following their statement 3-1 win over\u00a0Bayern Munich<\/a>, claiming \u2018something is different\u2019 about\u00a0Mikel Arteta<\/a>\u2019s side this season.<\/p>\n

Lennart Karl finished off an exquisite team move to cancel out Jurrien Timber\u2019s headed opener<\/a>\u00a0in an absorbing opening 45 minutes of Wednesday\u2019s heavyweight\u00a0Champions League<\/a>\u00a0contest.<\/p>\n

But Arteta rang the changes as Arsenal dug deep at the\u00a0Emirates<\/a>\u00a0and it proved a masterstroke, with\u00a0Riccardo Calafiori<\/a>\u00a0finding fellow substitute Noni Madueke to restore the hosts\u2019 lead with 20 minutes remaining.<\/p>\n

While Bayern pushed bodies forward in pursuit of an equaliser, it was Arsenal that benefitted on the counter-attack to wrap up a convincing victory and move three points clear at the top of the table.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Martinelli, another of Arteta\u2019s substitutes, was the man to put the game to bed, rounding an onrushing Manuel Neuer and stroking the ball home to cue rapturous scenes in north London.<\/p>\n

A possible injury to Leandro Trossard was the only negative<\/a>\u00a0on an otherwise perfect night for the Gunners ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea this weekend.<\/p>\n

Arsenal\u2019s previous win over Bayern came way back in October 2015, when Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil were on target in a 2-0 victory at the Emirates.<\/p>\n

Arsene Wenger\u2019s sides during this time were often accused of lacking the necessary fight and defensive nous to be able to compete for major trophies on a consistent basis.<\/p>\n

But the Gunners have transformed into a far more physical side under Arteta, feared across Europe for their doggedness and dominance from set-pieces at both ends of the pitch \u2013 even with Gabriel Magalhaes out injured.<\/p>\n

According to Henry, his beloved former club have now proven beyond doubt that they are the \u2018most solid\u2019 team in the Champions League having conceded just one goal in the competition this season.<\/p>\n

\u2018They play, Arsenal, but they don\u2019t overplay when they\u2019re in their own half,\u2019 the iconic Frenchman added.<\/p>\n

\u2018They tend to go long when they know that mistakes can happen and it worked out.<\/p>\n

\u2018They scored on the counter-attack and they actually scored on Bayern trying to overplay.<\/p>\n

\u2018I thought it was a good game from Arsenal: solid, especially after the weekend and with what\u2019s coming also this weekend.<\/p>\n

Ex-Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher agreed with Henry\u2019s assessment, chiming in: \u2018Yeah, Arsenal are the best team in Europe right now.<\/p>\n

\u2018The only thing that we said before the game, and we\u2019re saying it with Bayern but we\u2019re saying it more with Arsenal because they\u2019ve just beaten them well, it\u2019s whether they can still be the best team in Europe by May.<\/p>\n

\u2018There\u2019s a long way to go but no one can get near them right now.\u2019<\/p>\n
