Coming off the back of\u00a0my \u00a31,800-a-night stay in the McLaren Suite at The Trafalgar St. James London by Hilton<\/a>, I was invited to lay my head at the Hilton St George\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n

Yes, where\u00a0England<\/a>\u00a0train, and yes, you can refer to me as the UK\u2019s unofficial Hilton Hotel guru.<\/p>\n

At \u00a3650 per night, the \u2018Stay Like The England Teams<\/a>\u2019 experience is the ultimate treat for superfans.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With a private cinema, take-home gifts, custom in-room memorabilia, behind-the-scenes tours, a one-on-one training session, and access to the spa, gym, and pool, it\u2019s an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

As a lifelong football fan, I\u2019ve spent years watching England play, imagining
\nwhat it must feel like to train where the elite prepare for battle.<\/p>\n

So, when my wife and I were offered the chance to experience the package first-hand, I couldn\u2019t say yes fast enough.<\/p>\n

The location<\/h2>\n

Hilton St George\u2019s Park is near the National Forest, about six miles west of
\nBurton upon Trent, easily accessible by train or car.<\/p>\n

From London, it\u2019s about a three-hour drive or a 90-minute train, with one-way fares from \u00a318.<\/p>\n

The hotel is a short drive from Alton Towers theme park, which you could easily tack on as a day trip.<\/p>\n

From our 1pm check-in, the staff set the tone. Everyone was warm, attentive, and seemed genuinely excited to guide us through the experience.<\/p>\n

Our bags disappeared instantly, and minutes later we were whisked away on a custom England-themed golf buggy to a private building for VIP arrivals.<\/p>\n

We entered through the same secluded tunnel and lift used by the England
\nsquad, stepping into our own mini lobby decked with England branding and
\nartwork.<\/p>\n

The highlight? Signing my very own England contract at a mock
\npress-conference desk, complete with a Polaroid, because if there\u2019s no photo, did it really happen?<\/p>\n

Inside \u2018Suite Caroline\u2019<\/h2>\n

The aptly named \u2018Suite Caroline\u2019 is stunning: spacious, modern, and
\nfilled with thoughtful touches that make you feel part of England\u2019s inner circle.<\/p>\n

Knowing\u00a0Gareth Southgate<\/a>\u00a0once stayed here added an unexpected thrill.<\/p>\n

Changing-room-style benches, signed jerseys, and iconic memorabilia from
\nlegends like\u00a0Alex Scott<\/a>, Ella Toone,\u00a0Ian Wright<\/a>, and\u00a0Harry Kane<\/a>\u00a0set the vibe.<\/p>\n

The room is stocked with official England merch to take home, too. A shirt,
\nfootball, Hilton robes, slippers, and eye masks. It was luxury wrapped in
\nfootie nostalgia.<\/p>\n

But the real showstopper was the private football dugout-style cinema, complete with heated seats, blankets, England coach jackets, and a\u00a0PS5<\/a>\u00a0for late-night FC26 sessions.<\/p>\n

I liked that bit more than my wife did.<\/p>\n

Slipping on the England coach jacket made it even more immersive.<\/p>\n

For a few moments, I genuinely felt like a super sub waiting for the call.<\/p>\n

But before I could get distracted, it was time to lace up for a private training session.<\/p>\n

A Moment of Glory<\/h2>\n

What self-respecting football fan wouldn\u2019t love an exclusive training session with an FA-certified coach?<\/p>\n

Even while recovering from an Achilles injury, Gary \u2013 a consummate professional \u2013 made sure everything was tailored to me.<\/p>\n

Training on the same pitches as the England squad felt surreal, and my wife even joined in, scoring a penalty against me, which I won\u2019t shout about to loud.<\/p>\n

It was fun, energising, and the perfect warm-up before our behind-the-
\nscenes tour of the National Football Centre.<\/p>\n

Behind-the-Scenes Tour<\/h2>\n

Walking the same hallways as the England squad was an honour I never imagined I would have.<\/p>\n

St George\u2019s Park is packed with history, stories, and small details you\u2019d miss without this access.<\/p>\n

From the indoor 3G pitch to treatment rooms, gym, and tactics areas, it felt like stepping inside the heartbeat of English football. Any fan would be in heaven.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t just a tour; it was a deep dive into how elite football operates,
\nleaving you with a new appreciation for the game.<\/p>\n

A Taste of What Fuels England\u2019s Finest<\/h2>\n

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was outstanding. Seated at our private table
\nnext to the Crossbar, the sleek, modern setting was a welcome sight and the bespoke three-course menu that followed was impressive to say the least.<\/p>\n

The tuna tataki and beef fillet, finished off with the Final Whistle chocolate fondant was my ideal line up.<\/p>\n

Even without alcohol included, the soft drink pairings worked brilliantly,
\nthough we were treated to complimentary red wine which was a lovely touch.<\/p>\n

The staff were attentive without being intrusive, guiding us through the menu and ensuring we felt like VIPs.<\/p>\n

Cocktails start at \u00a313, red wine \u00a38 a glass, draught beer \u00a36.<\/p>\n

Breakfast of Champions<\/h2>\n

Breakfast the next morning was, without hesitation, the best hotel
\nbreakfast I\u2019ve ever had.<\/p>\n

The variety was incredible: hot options, pastries, fruit, cereals, and unique choices rarely seen in standard hotels.<\/p>\n

The \u00e0 la carte section let me eat what England players fuel up on before training: smoothies, protein bowls, custom eggs.<\/p>\n

Clean, carefully prepared, and delicious; food made for performance.<\/p>\n

Breakfast is included with the suite, but pricing is \u00a316 for adults and \u00a38 for children.<\/p>\n

So, was it worth it?<\/h2>\n

Every penny. At \u00a3650 for up to two adults and two children (or three
\nadults), the value is unquestionable if you\u2019re in the market for a bucket list treat.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re not just paying for a room, you\u2019re paying for exclusive access and unforgettable experiences.<\/p>\n

What surprised me most was how well-rounded the stay was. It\u2019s football-centric but also a genuinely relaxing luxury getaway.<\/p>\n

Throughout my wife and I felt looked after, appreciated, and understood.<\/p>\n

The staff made the experience shine, and every interaction felt personal.<\/p>\n
