An ex-Premier League star who bragged on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0about drug dealing has been jailed after police saw his videos on social media.<\/p>\n

Thierry Nevers, 23, was jailed after police suspicions confirmed he and drug dealer Allan\u00a0Barrass were dealing.<\/p>\n

Before turning to drugs, Nevers joined the\u00a0West Ham<\/a>\u00a0United academy on a three-year deal in 2021.<\/p>\n

The talented winger also enjoyed loan spells at Reading, Newport County and\u00a0Bradford<\/a>\u00a0City. In January last year, Nevers joined Moldovan Super Liga club Sheriff Tiraspol.<\/p>\n

Last Friday, Nevers, of Reading, was jailed with drug dealer\u00a0Barrass, 50, after they admitted conspiracy to supply class A drugs.<\/p>\n

Barrass, of Dorrington, Lincolnshire, also admitted possession of a sawn-off shotgun.<\/p>\n

Nevers was jailed for three years while\u00a0Barrass\u00a0was sentenced to ten years behind bars.<\/p>\n

Lincoln Crown Court heard Nevers was making regular trips from Dorrington to the Reading area.<\/p>\n

Police were suspicious that the pair were drug dealers, and officers swooped on\u00a0Barrass\u2019s address.<\/p>\n

Dramatic bodycam footage shows\u00a0Barrass\u00a0being arrested by armed cops as he drove to his home on August 6.<\/p>\n

A search of his property uncovered a sawn-off shotgun that was loaded with two cartridges in a bag in his bedroom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Officers also seized 40 grams of cocaine, \u00a35,860 worth of cash and numerous weapons.<\/p>\n

They found a lock knife under the mattress, an extending baton on a table in the entrance hall and a baseball bat by the side of his bed.<\/p>\n

Cannabis\u00a0plants<\/a>\u00a0were also found growing in the garage. Examination of mobile phones showed contact between the\u00a0Barrass\u00a0and Nevers, and evidence of them selling drugs.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Adam Petty, of\u00a0Lincolnshire<\/a>\u00a0Police, said: \u2018Drugs have a terrible impact on our communities and will never be tolerated.<\/p>\n

\u2018As well as the suffering caused to users, drug dealing brings violence and an uplift in theft offences, and often, as is seen in this case, the possession of dangerous weapons.\u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
