A new\u00a0rail<\/a>\u00a0service dubbed the \u2018EasyJet of trains\u2019 is launching next year, and will connect two popular cities for just \u00a38.75 (\u20ac10).<\/strong><\/p>\n Low-cost operator GoVolta plans to connect\u00a0Amsterdam<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Berlin<\/a>\u00a0by March 2026, with more routes on the continent to follow.<\/p>\n The Dutch company has pledged to offer the first 100 tickets on every service to customers priced under \u00a39,\u00a0rivalling the current options of rail travel across Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tickets from Amsterdam to Berlin with other rail operators currently range between \u00a331 (\u20ac37.90) and \u00a3213 (\u20ac257), depending on ticket type and class, so GoVolta are offering significant savings.<\/p>\n To begin, travellers can expect services between the two cities three times a week, with morning departures and later afternoon arrivals.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n However, unlike most of Europe\u2019s popular services, GoVolta\u2019s trains will not be high-speed.<\/p>\n The Amsterdam-Berlin service is expected to take eight hours, rather than the six-hour journey offered by the\u00a0German<\/a>\u00a0rail operator, Deutsche Bahn.<\/p>\n While that means journey times will be longer \u2013 it also means the service will be much cheaper.<\/p>\n This is because all of GoVolta\u2019s services are set to be budget-friendly.<\/p>\n The founders of GoVolta, Hessel Winkelman and Maarten Bastian have described the company as the \u2018EasyJet of the rails\u2019.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first train to Berlin will depart on 19 March 2026, stopping in Amersfoort, Deventer, Hengelo, Bad Bentheim, Osnabr\u00fcck, and Hannover.<\/p>\n The following day, trains to\u00a0Hamburg<\/a>\u00a0will commence. By Summer 2026, both routes will be updated to daily services.<\/p>\n In addition to this, GoVolta plans to expand its services \u2013 introducing a further daily connection between Amsterdam and\u00a0Paris<\/a>\u00a0in December 2026.<\/p>\n GoVolta will join other low-cost operators in Europe such as\u00a0Ougio<\/a>, a French subsidiary of the French SNCF and Avlo, operated by\u00a0Spanish rail company Renfe<\/a>.<\/p>\n While travelling by train is typically slower and more expensive than flying \u2013 these budget-friendly rail alternatives are directly competing with low-cost airlines.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/badvibes.live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GettyImages-588286472-300x200.webp\")
