The HR director at the centre of the\u00a0Coldplay kiss cam video\u00a0<\/a>has said the 16 second video ruined her life in her first public comments since the scandal erupted.<\/p>\n

Kristin Cabot revealed that her embrace with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron \u2013 caught on jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in July \u2013 was the first time the pair were physically affectionate.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0The Times<\/a>, the mum said the reason she covered her face in the viral moment was because her estranged husband was in the audience.<\/p>\n

Cabot said the whole affair, which saw her resign from her job, had been \u2018like a scarlet letter\u2019 as she was deluged with threatening and aggressive messages.<\/p>\n

She told The Times: \u2018I could have been struck by lightning, I could have won the lottery, or this could have happened.<\/p>\n

\u2018Even if I did have an affair, it\u2019s not anybody\u2019s business.<\/p>\n

\u2018I became a meme, I was the most maligned HR manager in HR history,<\/p>\n

\u2018It has been like a scarlet letter; people erased everything I\u2019d accomplished in my life and achieved in my career. This can\u2019t be the final word.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018My immediate reaction was, \u201cHoly shit, Andrew\u2019s here\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018We were in the middle of an incredibly \u2014 and amazingly \u2014 amicable separation. I was worried I would embarrass him.\u2019<\/p>\n

Cabot said the pair rushed out of the Gillette stadium and game planned a joint email to the company\u2019s board of directors, talking over the\u00a0phone<\/a>\u00a0for hours that evening.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when her estranged husband Andrew shared a screenshot of the video going viral online.<\/p>\n

Cabot describes her world collapsing around her as \u2018Coldplaygate\u2019 unfolded, with one of her kids bursting into tears and admitting she in \u2018too dark a place\u2019 to parent her children.<\/p>\n

While the, by then, ex-CEO and HR director kept in touch for a while after exchanging \u2018crisis management advice\u2019 she said they not no longer speak.<\/p>\n

She filed for\u00a0divorce<\/a>\u00a0from Andrew in august, while the status of Byron\u2019s marriage is not known.<\/p>\n
