Alan Shearer<\/a>\u00a0criticised\u00a0Benjamin Sesko<\/a>\u2019s performance in\u00a0Manchester United<\/a>\u2018s 2-2 draw against<\/a>\u00a0Tottenham<\/a>, claiming that the striker \u2018had no clue what he wants to do\u2019 in front of goal.<\/p>\n

United signed Sesko in a \u00a374 million deal from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window<\/a>\u00a0but the 22-year-old has scored just two goals in 12 appearances so far this season.<\/p>\n

Sesko was brought off the bench in the second half against Spurs and squandered an excellent chance to restore United\u2019s lead but after being played through on goal he showed enough of the ball to allow Mickey van de Ven to make an excellent last-ditch tackle.<\/p>\n

Shearer branded Sesko\u2019s display against Spurs as \u2018must do better\u2019,\u00a0although the striker may now be sidelined after suffering a knee injury in the closing stages of the game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s only scored twice in his 12 appearances and he came on today with just over half hour to go and had two really, really good chances and should have scored, to be honest.<\/p>\n

\u2018They worked it really well for him to get in. He\u2019s either got to get his shot away early or he\u2019s got to push that ball forward quicker. He\u2019s not going to get that amount of time in the\u00a0Premier League<\/a>\u00a0to work it back on his right foot.<\/p>\n

\u2018This one [Sesko\u2019s second chance] is the bigger puzzle for me. I know he\u2019s struggling for confidence but any centre-forward knows you cannot allow the centre-half to come back at you, you\u2019ve got to get across Van de Ven.<\/p>\n

\u2018By that time he should have a picture in his head of where the keeper is and what he wants to do. I don\u2019t think he has a clue he wants to do because I don\u2019t even think he even knows Van de Ven is there and chasing him.<\/p>\n

\u2018I know he\u2019s struggling with confidence but it\u2019s a big \u2018must do better\u2019. No one likes to see him coming off injured and we hope his knee is okay but they are two chances you\u2019d expect at that level that someone has to put away.\u2019<\/p>\n
