Prince William<\/a>\u00a0is expected to address young people in a video message to honour the remembrance of the end of the First World War.<\/p>\n

The Prince of\u00a0Wales<\/a>\u00a0is set to address the young people of Britain in a video message today, telling them why he thinks it is important to\u00a0wear a poppy on Armistice Day.<\/a><\/p>\n

His special video message will be revealed at the Royal British Legion\u2019s Remembrance Assembly this morning.<\/p>\n

Children aged 9-14 will take part in the assembly across schools, libraries, and education settings in the UK.<\/p>\n

Prince William is expected to say: \u2018Armistice Day is an important time for us to stop and reflect \u2013 it is a reminder that remembrance is for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u2018When we remember, we connect with service in a personal way.<\/p>\n

\u2018We learn from the courage of others, and we carry their stories forward, so they are not forgotten.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not just about the past \u2013 it\u2019s about shaping who we become in the future.<\/p>\n

\u2018Remembrance teaches us empathy, resilience and responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u2018And when we wear a red poppy or take a moment of silence, we are saying, \u2018Thank you. We have not forgotten, and we will not forget.\u2019<\/p>\n

William, who served in the Army and\u00a0RAF<\/a>\u00a0for seven years, will encourage young people to remember veterans and serving soldiers.<\/p>\n

He will say: \u2018Through my own military experience, as well as through my\u00a0work<\/a>\u00a0in connection with units across the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force, I have seen first-hand the hard work, dedication and duty the armed forces carry out to ensure we are protected.<\/p>\n

\u2018Coming together for remembrance is a vital way to honour those whose service keeps us safe.<\/p>\n

\u2018Even today, as we continue to face a number of conflicts across the world, we honour those who have gone before us, and those who are serving now.<\/p>\n
