Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>\u00a0has been selected to deliver Channel 4\u2019s Alternative Christmas Message, a decision that might take fans by surprise as he follows UK stars including\u00a0Chris McCausland<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Stephen Fry<\/a>.<\/p>\n In his message, the US TV star will talk about fascism after causing uproar among the\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0administration this year.<\/p>\n Trump has repeatedly called for the talk show host, 58, to be fired after he was vocally critical of the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0Government and its supporters numerous times.<\/p>\n Kimmel has clapped back in a similar fashion, recently quipping to the US President that\u00a0\u2018he\u2019ll go when Trump goes\u2019<\/a>\u00a0and that they could \u2018be a team.\u2019<\/p>\n In the Channel 4 Christmas message, which will air at 5.45pm on Christmas Day, Kimmel will reflect on his turbulent year, which saw him\u00a0suspended from ABC<\/a>\u00a0and then\u00a0later reinstated<\/a>.<\/p>\n In his speech, he will say: \u2018From a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year.\u2019<\/p>\n Following the broadcast of his final Jimmy Kimmel Live episode of the year last week, the host will also reflect on the hardships he has faced in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n During the final episode of his talkshow, which aired lastweek, he said: \u2018This has been a strange year. It\u2019s been a hard year.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve had some lows, we\u2019ve had some highs. For me, maybe more than any year in my life.\u2019<\/p>\n Tearing up, he continued: \u2018But on behalf of all of us \u2014 I\u2019m crying already, I\u2019m sorry. On behalf of all of us at the show, I just want to say that we appreciate your support, your enthusiasm.<\/p>\n \u2018And not just for watching. This year you literally pulled us out of a hole, and we cannot thank you enough, personally, professionally.\u2019<\/p>\n He went on to urge his US viewers to inform their friends outside of the US about the political climate and attitude within the country.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s important that we as Americans let our friends in other countries who watch the show on YouTube, on Instagram, Hulu, wherever, know that a lot of us are not okay with what is happening,\u2019 he went on.<\/p>\n \u2018There is still much more good in this country than bad, and we hope that you will bear with us during this extended psychotic episode that we\u2019re in the middle of.\u2019<\/p>\n Jimmy Kimmel Live was\u00a0taken off the air earlier this year<\/a>, and the host was suspended after\u00a0comments he made<\/a>\u00a0regarding\u00a0Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination<\/a>.<\/p>\n The president previously gloated when the show was cancelled, posting on his Truth Social platform at the time: \u2018Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED.<\/p>\n \u2018Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.
