The FBI missed an opportunity to protect thousands of victims after a complaint about\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>\u00a0was not acted on by the FBI, campaigners have said.<\/p>\n

Maria Farmer, whose sister Annie Farmer was abused by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, filed a report against him on September 3 1996 despite threats that he would \u2018burn her house down\u2019.<\/p>\n

The FBI never publicly confirmed the complaint until the report surfaced as part of the trove of Epstein files released this week.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve waited 30 years,\u2019 she told the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>, \u2018I can\u2019t believe it. They can\u2019t call me a liar anymore.<\/p>\n

\u2018They should be ashamed. They harmed all of these little girls. That part devastates me.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ms Farmer claimed for years that she tried to raise the alarm about Epstein and his partner,\u00a0Ghislaine Maxwell<\/a>, but faced accusations of fabricating the story.<\/p>\n

But her complaint \u2013 with her name redacted \u2013 was published alongside thousands of other documents by the Department of Justice under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.<\/p>\n

\u2018EPSTEIN is now threatening [redacted] that if she tells anyone about the photos, he will burn her house down.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ms Farmer, who was hired by Epstein to acquire art on his behalf, confirmed in an interview that the stolen photos included nude images.<\/p>\n

She only discovered the photos were missing after she left Epstein following what she described as a sexual assault at the hands of Epstein and Maxwell.<\/p>\n

The FBI has never publicly recognised her report and an internal investigation into the justice department\u2019s handling of Epstein\u2019s case did not mention it.<\/p>\n

Fuller said she did not hear from the FBI until a decade later when they launched a fuller investigation, which ended in a plea deal being agreed in 2008.<\/p>\n

Ms Farmer\u2019s lawyer said the revelation about the complaint was a \u2018triumph and tragedy for Maria and so many survivors.\u2019<\/p>\n

Jennifer Freeman added: \u2018Maria Farmer reported\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>\u00a0and Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s crimes in 1996.<\/p>\n

\u2018Had the\u00a0government<\/a>\u00a0done their job, and properly investigated Maria\u2019s report, over 1000 victims could have been spared and 30 years of trauma avoided.\u2019<\/p>\n

The\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0Department of Justice (DOJ) has made public never-before-seen photos of the disgraced paedophile\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>\u00a0and the celebrities with whom he socialised.<\/p>\n

Celebrities \u2013 including pop stars, politicians and businessmen \u2013 have been pictured in the DOJ\u2019s release of new Epstein documents.<\/p>\n

Famous faces included in Friday\u2019s release of images include Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, former US president Bill Clinton and The Rolling Stones frontman Sir\u00a0Mick Jagger<\/a>.<\/p>\n
