More than 30 years later, prosecutors in\u00a0Milan<\/a>\u00a0have opened an investigation into\u00a0Italian<\/a>\u00a0tourists who are accused of paying \u00a370,000 to join this \u2018human safari\u2019,\u00a0shooting and killing innocent Bosnians.<\/a><\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege these \u2018tourists\u2019, many of whom had ties to far-right circles, paid the Bosnian Serb army for weekend trips to Sarajevo, where they shot from rooftops at the city below.<\/p>\n

They paid an additional fee to kill children with the sniper rifles, according to the court filing.<\/p>\n

There could be more than 100 \u2018tourists\u2019 who jetted off to the warzone and may be called to give evidence in the trial.<\/p>\n

There are also allegations that Bosnian intelligence had proof of Italians in the hills surrounding Sarajevo.<\/p>\n

The Bosnian consul in Milan, Dag Dumrukcic, told la Repubblica: \u2018We are eager to uncover the truth about such a cruel matter and settle accounts with the past. I am aware of some information that I will contribute to the investigation.\u2019<\/p>\n
