Abraham\u00a0\u2018Avi\u2019\u00a0Loeb, a Harvard University astrophysicist, spends most of his waking hours thinking about a giant rock.<\/p>\n
The rock\u2019s name isn\u2019t too catchy,\u00a03I\/ATLAS<\/a>, and according to some, it\u2019s more of a cosmic-sized snowball.<\/p>\n But 3I\/ATLAS is no ordinary rock \u2013 it\u2019s a comet from beyond the solar system which\u00a0greeted the Earth<\/a>\u00a0on December 19.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also an \u2018interstellar visitor\u2019 that, if you ask Loeb, could be an\u00a0alien<\/a>\u00a0spacecraft that\u2019s either entirely benign or anything but.<\/p>\n \u2018In the first case, humanity need not do anything but await the arrival of this interstellar messenger with open arms,\u2019 Loeb tells\u00a0Metro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u2018It is the second option which is of great concern.\u2019<\/p>\n So, let\u2019s just say that 3I\/ATLAS was, in fact, an alien spacecraft.
