Enzo Maresca<\/a>\u00a0has left his role as\u00a0Chelsea<\/a>\u00a0manager with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

Maresca took over at Stamford Bridge in June 2024 and his current contract with the Blues ran until 2029.<\/p>\n

The Italian guided Chelsea to the Conference League title last season while Chelsea won the Club World Cup under Maresca over the summer.<\/p>\n

Chelsea started this season strongly but have won just one of their past seven league matches to slip 15 points behind Premier League leaders\u00a0Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There has also been tension at board level after Maresca said \u2018many people\u2019 had created his \u2018worst 48 hours\u2019 since joining the club after Chelsea beat Everton last month.<\/p>\n

Maresca has also been linked with Premier League rivals\u00a0Manchester City<\/a>\u00a0as a successor to Pep Guardiola, who he previously assisted at the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

Ironically it is Man City who Chelsea face next but it remains to be seen who will be in the Blues\u2019 dugout on Sunday after\u00a0Maresca\u2019s departure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A statement from the\u00a0Premier League<\/a>\u00a0club read: \u2018Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company.<\/p>\n

\u2018During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the\u00a0FIFA<\/a>\u00a0Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u2018Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club\u2019s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.<\/p>\n
