Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0Dr Punam Krishan<\/a>\u00a0has revealed she\u2019s been diagnosed with\u00a0breast cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Scottish GP and TV star<\/a>, 42, competed on the 2024 season of the long-running\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0dancing series,\u00a0where she placed eleventh<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0professional dance partner Gorka M\u00e1rquez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, she\u2019s now detailed the \u2018shock\u2019 of being told she had\u00a0cancer<\/a>\u00a0five months ago.<\/p>\n

Posting a photo from a hospital bed on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>, Dr Punam began by writing: \u2018Here goes\u2026five months ago, I heard the words nobody ever wants to hear: \u201cYou have cancer\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve spent almost 2 decades as a doctor, supporting patients and families through difficult diagnoses. And yet, nothing \u2013 absolutely nothing \u2013 prepares you for being on the receiving end yourself. The shock. The fear. The trauma. In that moment, knowledge means very little. I was diagnosed with breast cancer.\u2019<\/p>\n
