Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has revealed his secret weapon behind the operation to capture\u00a0Venezuela<\/a>\u2019s president Nicolas Maduro.<\/p>\n

A risky mission on January 3 saw American\u00a0special forces swoop in<\/a>\u00a0on the president\u2019s fortified compound in Caracas.<\/p>\n

Despite heavy crossfire between the Venezuelan air defence and the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0aircraft, the mission was successful, with Maduro and his wife transported to\u00a0New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now Trump has claimed that the mysterious weapon he calls \u2018The Discombobulator\u2019\u00a0disabled<\/a>\u00a0Venezuela\u2019s rockets.<\/p>\n

The US president said the new weapon \u2018made [enemy] equipment not work.\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking to the New York Post at\u00a0the White House<\/a>, he said: \u2018The Discombobulator. I\u2019m not allowed to talk about it.<\/p>\n

\u2018They never got their rockets off. They had Russian and Chinese rockets, and they never got one off. We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked. They were all set for us.\u2019<\/p>\n

Trump has previously admitted that his troops used a \u2018secret sonic\u2019 weapon, and he boasted that \u2018nobody else\u2019 has it.<\/p>\n

Details about the supposed weapon are scant, but rumours of its nature have swirled since the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, claimed that Maduro\u2019s guards were brought to their knees bleeding through the nose and vomiting blood.<\/p>\n
