A woman obsessed with\u00a0feng shui<\/a>\u00a0repositioned her local traffic mirror, causing a series of car accidents.<\/p>\n

Her neighbours in\u00a0Shanghai<\/a>\u00a0were puzzled for months after several crashes at a sharp turn in a residential compound.<\/p>\n

Despite property management re-adjusting the mirror multiple times, problems around that particular bend kept happening.<\/p>\n

Then an investigation uncovered that the culprit was a woman living opposite the mirror.<\/p>\n

Apparently, she had been moving it around to protect her home\u2019s feng shui.<\/p>\n

What is feng shui?<\/h2>\n

Feng shui is the traditional\u00a0Chinese<\/a>\u00a0practice of arranging buildings and objects to achieve a harmonious living environment.<\/p>\n

It uses concepts like the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water), yin-yang, and the bagua map to create balanced,, peaceful, and supportive environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Her husband, surnamed Luo, told Shanghai TV\u00a0that his wife had called on a feng shui master to check their home after suffering \u2018bad luck and\u00a0health<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

The master apparently concluded that it was the traffic mirror that was to blame.<\/p>\n

Mirrors are crucial to achieving better feng shui, as it is believed they should not face the door, windows or the bed.<\/p>\n

The thinking is that they could scare away the god of fortune.<\/p>\n

Luo said the pair felt the traffic tool was a \u2018demon-revealing mirror\u2019, a reference to an item in Chinese mythology which could reveal the true identity of a demon disguised as a human.<\/p>\n

He said: \u2018We are no demons. We are not happy having a demon-revealing mirror pointing at us.\u2019<\/p>\n

Property management tried to find a solution that would satisfy the family and angry locals.<\/p>\n

They installed another mirror on the opposite side of the road so that vehicles coming from both sides could observe traffic without affecting Luo\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

However, after suffering another bout of bad luck, Luo\u2019s wife adjusted both mirrors again.<\/p>\n

The property management company has now sealed the position of the mirror with cement.<\/p>\n

The police have also told the Luo family that their behaviour may constitute a criminal offence and warned they could be held accountable for any accidents caused by the moved mirrors, the\u00a0South China Morning Post reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
