The source added, \u201cThe widespread investigative belief is Nancy could be alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

DNA evidence and surveillance footage<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Right now, investigators are awaiting DNA results from a Range Rover SUV that was towed from a Tucson-area Culver\u2019s parking lot. The driver was briefly detained and interviewed before being released.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the FBI announced a major development: a glove containing DNA, found about two miles from Guthrie\u2019s home, appears to match the suspect seen in doorbell camera footage.<\/p>\n

The gloves were sent to a private lab in Florida and arrived Friday. Preliminary DNA results were received Saturday, with officials now awaiting \u201cquality control\u201d and confirmation before entering the profile into the national database.<\/p>\n

Nearly 16 gloves were found near Guthrie\u2019s home, most of them searchers\u2019 gloves discarded during the investigation. The FBI clarified that the glove with DNA could belong to the armed suspect caught on camera tampering with Nancy\u2019s front door the morning she disappeared.<\/p>\n

Video shows suspect<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nancy Guthrie, 84, mother of \u201cToday\u201d show co-host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 and officially reported missing on February 1.<\/p>\n

Doorbell footage released by authorities shows a masked individual walking slowly onto Guthrie\u2019s porch, head hung low as if trying to hide their face.<\/p>\n

The FBI described the suspect as a man about 5\u20199\u201d with a medium build, carrying a 25-liter \u201cOzark Trail Hiker Pack\u201d backpack.<\/p>\n

Authorities have expressed concern for Nancy\u2019s wellbeing, noting she relies on daily medication.<\/p>\n

Blood was discovered on her front porch, and purported ransom notes were sent to news outlets, though two deadlines have since passed without contact.<\/p>\n

As the case enters its 15th day, Nancy\u2019s daughter, Savannah Guthrie,\u00a0took to Instagram\u00a0with a heartfelt message to whoever may have her. \u201cI wanted to come on \u2026 it\u2019s been two weeks since our mom was taken and \u2026 I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope and we still believe,\u201d she said, holding back tears.<\/p>\n

She continued directly to the person holding her mother: \u201cAnd I wanted to say that to whoever has her or knows where she is, that it\u2019s never too late. And you\u2019re not lost or alone, and it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here, and we believe in the essential goodness of every human being, and it\u2019s never too late.\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities are urging residents to expect \u201ca lot of police activity\u201d daily as the investigation continues. Authorities are also continuing to investigate the source of a ransom note sent to CBS News\u2019 Tucson affiliate KOLD, which demanded payment in Bitcoin. At one point, the Guthrie family offered to pay, even without any proof that Nancy was alive, and they have shared several video appeals urging whoever has her to return her safely.<\/p>\n

While questions remain about the motive and suspect, law enforcement remains hopeful that Nancy Guthrie could still be found alive.<\/p>\n
