A father from\u00a0Scotland<\/a>\u00a0has fallen into a coma after suffering a heart attack while on holiday in\u00a0Turkey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Peter McMahon, 52, from Glasgow, went into cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning during his week-long break at a resort in Antalya, where his heart stopped beating for 70 minutes.<\/p>\n

His daughter, Teigan McMahon, who has flown to the Turkish capital to be by her dad\u2019s side, said paramedics performed CPR on \u2018for over an hour\u2019.<\/p>\n

She has since launched a\u00a0GoFundMe\u00a0<\/a>page to raise funds for his treatment after travelling without insurance to cover his\u00a0health<\/a>\u00a0complications.<\/p>\n

Teigan described her \u2018cheeky\u2019 and \u2018bubbly\u2019 dad as her \u2018lifelong best friend\u2019, and said she launched the fundraiser to \u2018give my dad the best possible chance\u2019 as he remains in intensive care.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old told the\u00a0Daily Record<\/a>: \u2018I got a call on Wednesday to say my dad was in ICU after he had a heart attack.<\/p>\n

\u2018He had a mini heart attack a few months ago.<\/p>\n

\u2018This was totally different. They had to perform CPR on him for over an hour. His heart stopped beating for 70 minutes.\u2019<\/p>\n

She added that her dad\u2019s kidneys have since been damaged and he is now receiving dialysis.<\/p>\n

She said: He\u2019s still in a coma, but he\u2019s able to breathe on his own. We are praying he wakes up. We are hoping for a miracle.\u2019<\/p>\n

Teigan set up a fundraiser on Saturday and, within a few hours, raised \u00a32,772 of their \u00a312,000 target to fund her dad\u2019s hospital bills and travel costs to bring him back home.<\/p>\n

She said on the fundraising page: \u2018I can\u2019t stress enough how important every penny counts.<\/p>\n

\u2018This bill is just increasing day by day and unfortunately, far beyond anything me or my family can manage alone.<\/p>\n

\u2018I am not the type of person to ask anyone for a penny but I will quite literally beg to save my dad\u2019s life.\u2019<\/p>\n
