Mohamed Salah will return to Liverpool’s squad for Saturday’s game against Brighton after ‘peace talks’ with Arne Slot, according to reports.
Salah sensationally claimed he had been ‘thrown under the bus’ by Liverpool and had ‘no relationship’ with head coach Slot in a dramatic public interview following the 3-3 draw at Leeds United last week.
The Egypt international, one of the biggest legends in Liverpool’s history, was subsequently dropped from the squad entirely for the 1-0 win over Inter Milan on Tuesday.
It was suggested that Salah’s future at Anfield was firmly in doubt but the 33-year-old is now back in the Liverpool squad for this weekend’s clash with Brighton, The Guardian have reported.
Salah, who is heading to the Africa Cup of Nations after the match between Liverpool and Brighton, has not started any of the Reds’ last four games.
The right winger’s fallout with Slot has dominated headlines all week and it is currently unclear if Salah has privately apologised to the Dutchman or not, with the exact details of their conversation remaining secret for now.
Salah’s bombshell interview after the draw with Leeds saw the player labelled a ‘disgrace’ by football pundit and Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher.
