Emmerdale is well known for its dramatic and climatic Christmas episodes, but could they really be killing off Kim Tate (Claire King)?!
It’s a bold move, but it looks very possible when Kim is left to die by the error of a fellow villager seeking a quick buck.
Sam Dingle (James Hooton) creates the potentially fatal situation when he comes up with a plan to ease his financial woes. The Dingles are in dire straits money-wise. They’re facing a £2000 bill for rewiring the whole of Wishing Well, and Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) dream to see Jason Donovan in concert looks set to be costing them upwards of £250.
Sam then makes the ultimate error in losing his cool during an argument with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and quits his job on the hoof. Lydia begs him to try and get it back and Joe refuses. Things look even more bleak, until Kim intervenes and gets him rehired.
But still desperate for money, Sam arranges a dodgy shoot on Home Farm land for some quick cash, risking not just arrest, but Kim’s wrath.

It’s smiles all round as Lydia enjoys the special concert and then shares a drink with Jason in the Woolpack.
But while she’s having the time of her life, Kim hears from Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) that there’s a dodgy shoot going on and heads off to investigate.
This is possibly a fatal move. In her quest to thwart the hunt, she ends up badly injured, alone, desperate and helpless, praying to be saved before she succumbs to her injury.
