The Beckham family made their first joint outing today following eldest child Brooklyn Beckham’s explosive tell-all statement.
And they were adamant about portraying a ‘resilient’ and ‘united’ front.
Last week, the budding chef and former photographer, 26, made a string of shocking claims about his parents, Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
Taking to Instagram with several Stories of text, Brooklyn accused them of ‘controlling’ him and repeatedly ‘disrespecting’ his wife of four years, Nicola Peltz, 31.
What’s more, Brooklyn said his mum pulled out of designing the actress’ wedding dress ‘at the eleventh hour’ before dancing on him ‘inappropriately’, while his footie legend father ‘refused’ to see him unless Nicola was uninvited around the time of his 50th birthday bash.
Vowing to ‘tell the truth’ and ‘stick up for [himself]’ at long last, Brooklyn declared defiantly that he ‘does not wish to reconcile’ with his family, only increasing the distance between them after months of feud rumours.
In the wake of the damning allegations, Posh and Becks have remained relatively tight-lipped, not addressing Brooklyn’s words explicitly but rather reflecting on ‘great memories’ with him in some social media comments.
And it now appears the famous brood is keen to keep up appearances, stepping out in Paris this afternoon for Haute Couture Fashion Week.
This comes after Brooklyn made a dig about the ‘performative’ seemingly tight-knit unit, writing that ‘inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life [he] was born into’.
Joined by three of their four kids on Monday, Sir David, 50, and Victoria, 51, led the charge as they emerged from the five-star La Réserve hotel.
Sir David held Victoria’s hand and had a slight smile on his face, looking typically smart in a grey suit.
Fashion and beauty mogul Victoria maintained her famous composure, looking chic in an all-black ensemble. She teamed the semi-sheer long-sleeved attire with peep-toe heels and a structured bag, a pop of red appearing on her nails.
Teenage daughter Harper followed her fashionista mother’s lead, styling her own blonde locks in the same loose waves and wearing a satin gown complete with a matching shawl.
Dad David guided Victoria to the end of the red carpet at the exit and placed his hand on the small of her back to signal for her to walk ahead before heading back and assisting 14-year-old Harper.
Closely behind were sons Cruz, 20, and Romeo, 23, who were accompanied by their respective girlfriends, Jackie Apostel, 30, and Kim Turnbull, 24.
Youngest son Cruz was particularly smiley while footballer Romeo was his dad’s double with bleached hair and neck tattoos, the Beckham boys clutching onto their glam girlfriends’ hands as they made their way to a car.
Upon analysing the family’s latest appearance, body language expert Judi James told Metro that they ‘oozed elegance, confidence, and resilience’.
Despite Brooklyn’s words about how the ‘brand’ comes first and his family ‘values public promotion and endorsements above all else’, Judi said ‘Brand Beckham’s outing here suggests high levels of projected confidence’.
‘We see some mirrored smiles that even included Victoria in their scope, who is normally not known to be a fan of smiling in public,’ she added of the Wannabe hitmaker’s demeanour.
‘With her head held high and in a stunning and slightly daring black dress, she showed an upward curl of the corners of her lips and a hint of an eye smile as she was led along by David.’
As for the recently knighted sportsman? ‘He was in a strongly protective and supportive mode, frowning and stretching one arm out in front of Victoria to look very much like the family alpha with his brood behind him.’
‘The authenticity of the smiles varied slightly from sibling to sibling, but the intention was there,’ noted Judi, as the likes of Romeo and model Kim flashed huge grins directly to camera.
‘This created what looked like a mutual desire to be seen as a strong and united family unit behind their dazzling parents.’
All were present as Spice Girl-turned-designer Victoria became a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres is a prestigious honour awarded by the French government to individuals who have ‘made significant contributions to the fields of arts, literature, and culture – both in their own country and internationally.’
Victoria – whose Noughties pop tune reemerged in the charts last week following Brooklyn’s takedown – joins a list of major A-listers to have received the honour before her.
These include Kylie Minogue, Denis Villeneuve, Shakira, Cate Blanchett, and Selena Gomez.
Taking to Instagram after the occasion, Victoria wrote that she felt ‘so honoured’.
